Premron Pty Ltd is a conveyor manufacturing company based in Gladstone, Queensland, with extensive know-how in design, engineering, manufacturing, system engineering and programming. Utilising technology born from the currently available above ground conveying system, the Premron EBS, the company now provides the underground mining industry with a safe and continuous product haulage solution, the Premron CHS.
The Premron team has been augmented by employees with skill sets applicable to the industry, particularly underground electrical engineering, programming and automation. Premron have retained staff on the Premron EBS and Premron CHS as long as product inception in 1995.

Premron Pty Ltd has been built from 30+ years in the Australian mining industry, founded by Mr. Brian Whelan, a local engineer from regional Queensland.
Following extensive overseas research, Brian discovered and introduced new conveyor technology to the Australian market and Premron has become a leader in innovative solutions for the mining and materials handling industry.

Industry Relationships & Partnerships
After the success of Premron’s EBS (Enclosed Belt System) the Australian Coal Industry and their research body ‘ACARP’ approached Premron in 2012, identifying the Enclosed Belt System as possible technology to be adopted into underground gateroad developments.
Since ACARP’s involvement in 2012, Premron have built and trial tested three prototype machines, and a final fully functional Mine Compliant system as part of the Premron and ACARP Research Development Project, tested at Kestrel Coal Mine in 2019 – 2020.
Michael’s wealth of experience covers 25 years in the Power and Coal Mining Industry, including 13 years of direct exposure in Materials Handling Technology in Australia and Europe. Michael is responsible for all business operations on site and within the Gladstone workshop.
Since starting his career in 1995 Michael has not only developed dynamic insight to innovative industry technologies but established strong management foundations and valuable business relationships; a true testament to Premron's operational capabilities and quality standards today.
Ivo contributes extensive design and drawing experience in global innovative technologies and has been a significant driver in the design of the Premron CHS conveyor belt system. Employed with the Ministry of Economy, Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency, Ivo has designed drawings for automated production lines for electric, wind turbine towers, industrial robots and other conveying systems.
Ivo can provide modelling, detailed drawings to AS1100, engineering analysis, (FMEA/FEA), facilitate design risk assessments and programming for 3D Modelling/Printing. Ivo performs all calculations for Premron which are checked and RPEQ certified by our Principle Engineer.
Christopher has over 15 years experience within the Coal Mining Industry and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology majoring in Application Development and a Certificate III in Electrotechnology. Working in various roles in project management and Instrumentation Electrics, Chris has most recently delved towards developing intricate Electrical Systems Integration on innovative technology on the new Premron Continuous Haulage System based at Emerald. Christopher’s strengths include Programming and Application Engineering, Standards Auditing and System Engineering on underground Coal Mine Longwall and Development Systems.
Shaun is a Fitter and Turner by trade and been involved in the Coal Mining Industry for the past 15 years in varying capacities. Shaun has Maintenance experience in CHPP/Dragline operations and also Underground Coal Mining, specialising in LW roadway Development and brings experience from his time on the tools and progressed into Maintenance Coordination roles. Shaun has been involved in the Premron CHS surface trial at Kestrel Coal over the last couple years in a Lead position and now joins the Ausino Projects team in a Business Development role.
Kahlia Higgins joined the Premron team in 2020, filling the role of Project Support/ QA/QC. Kahlia produces the Quality Documentation, supports the Project and Engineering Team, and assists with the production of Product Operations and Maintenance Manuals.
Danni has worked with the Premron Group since 2018 developing, implementing and coordinating day to day procedures and operations of the business.
Danni brings with her 6 years of experience within similar roles in the industry, and ensures the Premron Team runs like a well oiled machine. Managing the reporting for Financial and Operational data, Danni ensures all reports are provided on time for management; a critical function to ensures projects run on time and to budgets.
